Leighton Abbot

Leighton is a leadership consultant with over a decade’s experience working with New Zealand organisations of all sizes and across all industries. In his previous senior role in IBM Kenexa, his focus was to partner with client executive sponsors to understand their business and design an employee survey programme to capture feedback critical to making informed strategic decisions. His role as the Director of the IBM Kenexa Best Workplaces programme for many years earned him a reputation as one of New Zealand’s foremost authorities on what engages and enables people at work.


This unique background has allowed Leighton to develop a depth of understanding about the drivers of business success beyond theory. He has particular passions around customer experience, performance and technology enablement, and organisation and employee resilience in the face of market disruption and organisation change. ‘The future of work’ is something that will be intimately personal for each of us and will draw emotional responses, and so the approach that organisation leaders take to intentionally crafting the changing employee experience will be essential to maintain commitment, productivity and engagement.
